I've finally finished the first chapter of the long-awaited sequel to Breakdown - a new Galen Cuvier story, titled Homecoming? I posted the new chapter today.
The addition of the new story caused a need to reorganize several parts of my ASSTR website (naturally), so today's updates are more massive than just posting a story. Galen has gone from being the main character in a single story (Breakdown), to being the central figure in a universe of stories (The Life and Times of Galen Cuvier). And yes, it's likely that there will be more Galen stories after Homecoming? is finished.

I enjoyed your original story very much, and am glad you are returning to it after the hiatus. However, now I have a new page to start checking every day for new posts. The bothers of finding a good author (alas). ;) Thank you very much for for your work so far, and I look forward to seeing how this one develops!
Thanks for the encouragement. I hope Homecoming? will meet your (and my) expectations. I'm afraid that it's going to be slow going, though. It has to compete for my time with several other writing projects.
I know how frustrating it can be to keep checking a favorite author's pages for new chapters or stories. That's one of the reasons I use this blogging service. Every time I post a new chapter or story, I concurrently post a blog here. You subscribe to the RSS feed, and have your browser automatically inform you when there is new content on the blog. That way, you don'thave to waste time checking a web page that hasn't changed!
